Yes! Chocolate!! A lot of you are thinking isn't chocolate supposed to be "bad" for your health? Well, when we speak of chocolate here, we are actually referring to Dark Chocolate, not those over-processed, light coured ones. Dark Chocolate when consumed moderately is very good for you. Here's a look at some interesting ways it helps boost your health.
No, no, no! You are not supposed to apply it dark chocolate on your skin. It works from the inside. A chemical contained in dark chocolate, flavanol, actually protects the skin from damage due to the exposure to exposure to ultra-violet rays from the sun. It also improves blood flow and aids in skin hydration. Studies have shown that people who consumed a lot of dark chocolates months before on out door vacation are less susceptible to sunburn. So you see why we call it sun block.
Dark chocolate helps improve brain function. Again studies have shown that high flavanol chocolate has that ability to improve blood flow to the brain and boost mental activity. Also
, some experts debate that it helps improve cases of mental impairment in the elderly. Bottom line dark chocolate helps improve brain activity especially the side of the brain that controls fluency and logical thinking.
Most cocoa products, dark chocolates inclusive, are loaded with natural vitamins and minerals that help the bones and funny enough the enamel of your teeth! Amazing right?  The vitamins also protect the body against anemia, iron defficiency and other health issues that may arise as a result of low vitamins and mineral intake.

Now, its gets interesting. A recent study by an Italian University has shown that consuming a cube of dark chocolate a day helps reduce frigidity most especially in ladies. This is making due to the presence of compound known as phenylethylaminen, the same mood-altering compound that increases feelings of attraction between two people. No wonder most companies like using sensous-looking ladies to advertise dark chocolate.

Dark chocolate contains a lot of organic compounds that function as antioxidants. Infact several tests show that cocoa, the primary ingredient for making dark chocolate, contains the highest amount and variety of active antioxidants such as polyphenols, flavanols, catechias, etc. The implication of this is that dark chocolate is effective in fighting off free radical cells contained in some foods. Very interesting right?
